Sunday’s ride to Birches Valley

On Sunday we went to Birches Valley on Cannock Chase. A surprising warm and sunny day. The bacon baguettes were as good as ever! With a little off-roading on the way back we ended-up doing near 30 miles.

The next ride will be on Sunday November 8th and it's been suggested that we start a little earlier at 10 o'clock.

Although a few of the 'regulars' are away, there will be a ride on Sunday, going from the castle at 10.30

Autumn and winter training rides

Hi,

It has been suggested that we run rides throughout the autumn and winter, just once a month, to both keep our legs moving and to keep in touch, so, the idea at present is the second Sunday in each month we'll meet at the castle and do a 20ish mile run, most likely with a sandwich stop.

The first ride will be October the 11th, meeting at 10.30

Any suggestions for routes will be most welcome.

Balti night 26th september

Hi guys,

A quick reminder that Alison has organised the balti for Saturday the 26th of September at ASHIANAS (NOT Nishads) at 7.30pm and is looking forward to seeing everybody and dicussing all the tales from the big ride.

The social ride

What a great Sunday!

There were two groups, one taking the youngsters along the disused railway line and the main group doing the more undulating road route to Gnosall and meeting at the Oak for lunch (a few with hangovers arriving by car).

A warm sunny day and a very leisurely lunch followed the whole group returning along the old railway track.

Good fun and great company.

Social ride

Hi Guys.

We are going ahead with the social ride on Sunday 6th September, I thought we could go to Gnosall through the lanes, have lunch at the Oak and then come back to Stafford along the disused railway line, then, if the kids want to ride back with us, like last year, it will be both safe and gentle for them! not to mention for us too!

We can meet at the castle at 11am, as if we meet any earlier, we may be too early for lunch.

Post-ride balti

Hi Guys

I am organising a post-bike-ride balti for those who would like to participate.

Can everybody that is interested please e-mail me. Probably the best time to arrange would be September after school hols etc.
