Training ride for Sunday April 5th

This Sunday’s ride is to Birches Valley Visitor Centre on Cannock Chase and weather permitting will return over the chase using tracks that are pretty solid.

See you at 10 o'clock at the castle.

Another great turn-out

Nice to see everyone so chirpy after losing an hour’s sleep, and having had a late night, and having one or two too many...

A bacon sandwich at The Spider’s Web Cafe after 20 miles, it doesn’t come much better than that!

Mileage for most was over 40, the sun shone and the wind was light (even after a balti the night before).

Oh what a night

I think we can safely say everyone enjoyed themselves at Nishads on Saturday, as you can see from these pics.

11 o'clock start for this week only

Seeing as it will obviously be a late night on Saturday and we will also lose an hour's sleep, as the clocks go forward, the start time for this Sunday's ride will be 11 o'clock instead of 10.

Back to 10 o'clock next week.

Thanks

Jackie

Balti night

The table for the balti this Saturday (28th) is booked for 9.30, 9.45pm ish, for those that would like to, we're meeting in the Bear at 8.15pm ish.

Upcoming training rides

We have no route for this Sunday as yet, but hope to do about the same distance as last week.

On Sunday 29th (the day after the balti) we will be cycling to the Spiders Web at Cosford which will give us chance to have a 'bacon sandwich stop'.

As will the following Sunday (5th April) when we'll be going through the chase to Birches Valley.

Start times are still 10am.

Thanks - Jackie

Balti Night 28th March

There are now 20 of us for the balti and Nishads have said that's really as many as they can cater for now, so I'm sorry if you wanted to come and haven't yet said.
Thanks
Jackie

Training ride report

Sunday's ride covered 26 miles castle to castle and was a much better day than last week, thank goodness. The route was a little more hilly over the roads around Cannock Chase.
I know that several of you won't be riding next Sunday (22nd), as it's Mothers day, so far, it's just me and Eunice, can you let me know if you will be riding please?

Training ride for March 15th

Firstly, a great turn-out again for last Sunday's ride which turned really wet and horrible about half-way through, but, I'm sure everyone's spirits were only dampened for a short while (until their hot bath). We covered about 25 miles castle to castle.
This Sunday we have no fixed route as yet but envisage doing about the same distance. Start time 10 o'clock again if that's ok with everyone.

Also, the table is booked at Nishads for Saturday 28th March for the 14 people. If anyone else would like to come, let me know and I will see if they can fit you in.

Balti night

I am in negotiations with Nishads regarding booking a table or ten for Saturday 28th March, can you PLEASE let me know as soon as poss, if you would definitely like to go and if so, how many, it may have to be on a first come first served basis, as there are so many of us now, numbers may be limited.
Cheers Jackie

Training ride for March 8th 2009

New start time for training ride: 10 o'clock!

We will be going to Lapley this Sunday, probably about 18/20ish miles.
The start time every Sunday will probably be at 10.00 unless you hear differently.
We had a very good turnout for the first training ride, we did about 17ish miles at a gentle pace.
