Aberdovey accommodation and training

Hi Bikers.

The Dovey Inn is now fully booked, the Penhelig, does actually still have some rooms available, even though they have been telling people that they haven't when they have rung them. Obviously if anyone wants to stay somewhere else that's fine.

Just in case anyone wants to go on the net and find somewhere close to where we are going to eat, the postcode for the Dovey Inn is LL35 0EF.

Can I remind you all that there are only 14 weeks to go until the "Big Day". That is just 13 more Sunday training rides!!

Over the next few weeks, I will be getting a menu from the Dovey Inn. I would ask that once I have forwarded it to you, that you make your selection, and let me know as soon as possible.

I hope to see you at the weekend.

Cheers Jackie X

Five go to Birches Valley

Another Enid Blyton book?

Not exactly, but a great ride on Sunday for the five of us as we ventured to Birches Valley (they really do make the best bacon and sausage bagettes) and returned over the chase WITHOUT GETTING LOST!

Dave and Eunice were also sporting their new bikes, there will be no stopping them now.

See you this weekend for more pedalling!

Don't forget

Just a quick reminder that the clocks go forward this weekend so we all have a hour's less sleep.

See you at 10 o'clock (British summer Time).

Thanks

Five go to Spider's Web

I know it sounds a little like an Enid Blyton book title, but that's what happened on Sunday. Jackie led the five riders to one of our favourite destinations, The Spider's Web near Cosford.

Welcome to the newcomers, a great debut.

Meet at the castle again this Sunday at 10 o'clock.

Thanks

Accommodation for the ride

I will be looking into accommodation for the "Big Day" very soon, but do need to know who is bringing partners, etc, so that I have a rough idea of numbers/rooms etc, so if you can let me know urgently please!! although obviously changes can still be made.

Thanks very much.

10 o'clock start

Hi everyone,

As this Sunday is Mothers Day, I'm aware that quite a few of you won't be able to make it, but for those of you that can, we will starting at 10am rather than 10.30am and will be starting at that time for the next few weeks, but will probably make it a bit earlier as the rides get longer, but I will keep you posted.

Thanks

Jackie

Girls allowed at Birches Valley

No, not Girls Aloud. But it looks like the only people allowed out last Sunday were the ladies.

The group of five tackled the route via the grounds of Shugborough to one of the favorite destinations of Birches Valley where a well earned bacon buttie was on offer at the visitor centre, returning via Cannock Chase.

The training distance was 32-35 miles.

Although it's Mother's Day this Sunday, there's still a ride and a few have already committed to turning up.

Date for big ride and training rides

Hi Guys,

This is mainly for the benefit of those of you that didn't make the meeting last Friday.

The date for the "Big One" is Saturday 3rd July and we will be going to Barmouth again, albeit with a different ending, for the last ten miles we will be following the estuary into Barmouth.

There will be a training ride every Sunday up until then, I realise that not everybody will be able to make everyone of them, but there should be some of us out each Sunday.

This Sunday starts at 10.30am, at the castle,
but the start time for future rides is open to negotiation, so please check, either on email, here on the blog or text me.

I will be sorting a couple of hotels out as soon as poss and pass the information to you, but obviously, you are more than welcome to choose your own accommodation if you prefer to.

Hope you are all fit and well and hope to see some of you on Sunday.

Cheers Jackie x
