Charity funds from 2008

Hi All,

We have submitted a huge £1,600 to MacMillan Cancer Support, which was raised for the 2008 ride. Here's the acknowledgment letter and the certificate. Just click either for a closer look. A further £200 went to the National Deaf Children's Society and a donation of £150 went to The Swallows Sport for the disabled as a thank you for the loan of the minibus. Once again, our total was kept high due to our overheads being kept down thanks to our supporters; David Hanley from Yes Response for then loan of the van, including the fuel, and all the back-up crew who invest their time and money into helping (and we do need some help) us during the big ride weekened. A big thank you to everyone involved, in making this a very enjoyable and worthy event.

Training rides

We had a good ride yesterday (April 26th), we went to Birches Valley again, but this time we came back through the Chase, which was quite hairy, a bit bumpy and for some of us, a bit scary!! but enjoyable all the same. Thanks Adam!

I won't be out this Sunday (May 3rd), but there will still be a ride, can you please let me know if you will be coming, ta.

Training ride for Sunday April 26th

The route for this Sunday has not yet been decided, but it will still be a 10 o'clock start as usual at the castle.

Thanks

A lovely day for it!

Sunday's ride started out chilly but ended up being glorious. Starting at the castle we proceeded to meet Richard at Sandon who led us on a wonderfully scenic mystery tour around the area. Having only taken one wrong turn we met up with Alison who then guided along many 'downhills' to The Roebuck at Hilderstone for a well deserved break before completing the round trip home giving most of us a 45 mile+ ride.

Blinkin' heck, it's amazing how tough these Staffordshire downhills can be! Thanks Alison, we love your optimism.

Training ride for Sunday April 18th

We will be meeting as usual at ten this Sunday at the castle and then going on to meet Alison and Richard at the Seven Stars at Sandon, they will be organising a route around Stone etc.

Knowing the area, and the route planners, we had all better make sure our low gears are working well, there may be the odd incline or two.

If we stop at 'The Boar' for lunch, watch out for the local residents, they have a big interest in sandwich fillings, just ask Andy!
