Marvelous, mountainous, Milwich

It was another of Russell's mystery tours on Sunday, taking the group to the hilly area of Milwich - a great training ride and very picturesque. The weather could not have been better! Thanks Russell.

See you all Sunday (or Saturday if you are going to the balti).

Countdown to the big ride

Hi,

The weeks are ticking by and the remaing training rides are being planned:

Sunday 24th May: Route to be decided on the day (the weather forecast is good)

Sunday 30th May (the day after the balti night): Route to somewhere that does good bacon butties to cure the hangovers

Sunday 7th June: 40 - 50 miles (route to be anounced shortly)

Sunday 14th June: Ironbridge, about 55 miles

Sunday 21st June (Father's Day so subject to change): The Alton training ride, approx 65 miles with a few serious inclines!

Sunday 28th June: Just a short potter and a steady pace, probably Birches valley

Saturday 4th July: The day of the big event!

If anyone would like to suggest/organise a route on the weeks that have not yet been planned, it would be most welcome.

Climbs, cloudbursts, carrot and coriander

There were just four of us on the training ride yesterday, those of you who chose not to ride yesterday made a very good choice weather wise, we did about forty six, 'very hilly' miles and were 'wet through' to the skin, it was a bit grim at times as the expression on my face may tell, but the sun did come out eventually and dried us off, plus the cafe stop was very good, the hot 'carrot and coriander' soup was very much appreciated.

Thanks for doing for a great route Russell.

Ride as usual next 'Sunday' (although I wont be there, as I will be away, I will however go out on the bank holiday Monday instead, if anyone fancies coming, let me know).

I hope you are all fit and well.

Jackie

Help from the 'Yes' man

David Hanley has offered us the use of Yes Response's van for the third year running to use as a support vehicle on the big ride and also to bring back most of the bikes on the Sunday.

Thanks again David.

Training ride for Sunday 16th May

We will meeting as usual, next Sunday, 10am at the castle and Russell has very kindly offered to do the route for us.

Training ride report

We had a good ride yesterday, we went to the Spiders Web at Cosford again, the same distance as before, but we did step the pace up a bit, worth it for the bacon butty! (which clearly put a smile on everyone's face).

Balti reminder

Hello all,

Can you let Jackie know if you're coming to the balti night on 30th as soon as possible please.

Thanks

Criccieth beckons

The 'Big Ride' is only nine weeks away.

That leaves eight more Sunday rides to go, the last one, the week before the big day, is only ever a short, gentle potter, leaving only seven more Sunday's to get our ass's into gear! me very much included!

Could I ask that everybody tries to make at least a couple of the rides if you can possibly make it, thanks.

I will be able to come out to play again from next Sunday, 10th, not sure where we are going yet, but if anyone wants' to do a route, it would be very much appreciated.

Hi de Hi.
