Llandudno hotel

Hi everyone,

I have spoken to Roger at the Trevone Hotel again this morning, to clarify that each member of the group will ring and confirm their own bookings of rooms, under the name of the Balti Bike Club, so if you do intend staying at the Trevone, could you ring and book as soon as poss, so that he knows what he can and can't let out to other people, thanks.

He is charging £36 per person B&B and £12 for a three course evening meal, if you want a sea view it will be slightly dearer.

The phone number is 01492 876314.

Thanks

Jackie

5 Ladies & their Man Servant off to Norbury Junction

We had a lovely ride on Sunday about 45 miles in total.

Paul led us all on his mystery trip to Norbury Junction, the weather was fairly kind to us until we had finished lunch, then the Great Storm of Norbury struck; thunder, lightening, hale and heavy rain. (We hid in the pub till it had passed over, then applied warming heat patches to appropriate body parts and set off home.
Unfortunately Paul had technical problems with his pedals at Gnosal which meant his bike was taking no further part in the ride. He commandeered Kay’s bike to get home via fastest main route, while the remaining ladies took the scenic Bradely Route.

Kay last seen sitting on a bench in Gnosal, babysitting Pauls bike.

'The Teapot' proves to be popular

Slade Lodge was the lunch venue again to Sunday's training ride, followed by an extended route to Birches Valley, Shugborough and a climb out of Milford for the second time of the day.

Approx 33 miles this time.

Girls go further

Sunday 8th April saw Jackie, Eunice, Becky and Kim go to the tea pot (Slade Lodge) covering 32 miles with Eunice doing 38, it was a hard ride where all got soaked, it was raining from the start, but it did clear up.

Then, Eunice, Kim and Lucy did 42 miles around Milwhich the following Friday, this too was very hard, but at least it didn't rain.

Girls rules OK

The girls seem to be showing the guys the way with their commitment to training this year!

Jackie, Eunice, Rebecca and Kim (and Pete tagged along) went to The Spider's Web at Cosford for the second week running, covering about 45 miles, then, Eunice, Kim and Rebecca did the additional 10 mile route out towards Tixall.

They're really are going to be leaving us behind in July. Just where to next I hear you ask.

There will be more training on Sunday at 10 o'clock.

Cheers

Training ride report for 25th March

Hi Guys.

The training is going really well, it was a beautiful day yesterday, we went to the Spiders Web, about 37 miles, although Eunice and Kim went the extra mile, or 18 miles to be exact and did 55 in all!!
For those of you that haven't made any yet, the training rides are every Sunday at 10am at the castle, please bear in mind that if you DO intend to do the big one this year, that it is the longest of them all and we will have to do lots of training if we want to get there before dark! :)
